These are way over priced for what you get. There is no arch support, just flat inserts to build up if they fit too loosely. I bought these for my mother who complained her 9 ounce per shoe weighed too much. I injured both my wrists and I couldn't tie her shoes for her and needed velcro closing. She does think they are lighter but I have not weighed them to know. If they are, they are not by much. The strap does not come over smoothly and bunches up. It's like it's placed slightly off to lay smoothly. She wears braces and the hard part of velcro was almost not long enough for her to pull the strap thru the metal loop and back the the hard part of velcro. This needs to be longer for people with swelling feet as it only latched about .5 inches; but, it seems to be enough to hold her foot in. It does let you open up widely but not as widely as some other and would have liked the sides by the ankle bones to be a little more flexible. Her brace went in but we needed to tuck her brace strap in, which tennis shoes did not do, and this shoe worked but took some effort on my part as her hands and balance were to weak to fight with snugness. The color is a beige, which was a leading feature we chose along with flex opening. The material was a mesh on the top; sort of like a water shoe. Though it is not ugly, it is not dressy by any standard. It does grip well and works for the braces. This shoe would not work for a winter shoe or rain. If the company made a closed material that would help for those cold days and or rain.Would I buy again, I would only if I could not find something that served the same purpose and was more stylish. An entrepreneur needs to come up with a dressy and casual shoe for handicapped people that adjusts for toe with, heel width, arch support inserts, and spread space for people with braces. There is money in this. I've searched for 5 years for a shoe with NO heel, an arch, toe width adjustment, heel width choice, strap on top so a drop foot doesn't come out OR a top that stretches an comes up the foot more so toes do not have to hold the shoe on, and NOT an UGLY casual sandal, and HAS PRETTY design both for casual and an elegant evening. I have only found a casual shoe, NO dressy shoe, that is not ugly. This is one. At this point with all those requirements there are NONE that I would WANT to wear. This shoe was a tolerable casual and would buy again if nothing else available. It does seem to run about a half size large.
